Authorities in Cozumel continue the efforts to protect the Blue Crab of Cozumel. This species is constantly run over by vehicles that drive through the different points of the island mainly on the north and west side. These efforts consist on monitoring the areas where this crustaceous live. According with Adrian Angulo Romero director of the Environmental Protection Agency of Cozumel the help is need by encourage the locals and visitors to drive slowly trough the areas where the blue crab cross the roads. The local police will be joining the efforts on monitoring the roads for the protection and safety of the blue crab in Cozumel.
