Diving Etiquette

When you book a dive trip any where in the world you don’t really know who else will be going diving with you or who will be on the dive boat. Many times there will be divers that won’t be taking pictures.Regardless who is taking pictures, we all should have good manners went it comes to sharing the underwater world.
Having a camera in your hands does not give you the right of way, and doesn’t give you the ownership of that marine encounter. Having good diving etiquette makes the trip enjoyable and will help others by setting a positive example. Nobody likes those obnoxious photographers, the classic "underwater paparazzi". Following a set of rules and using common sense will help you to achieve good diving etiquette.

According with the local authorities, Raul Platas diver instructor for the “Asociación Nacional de Operadoras Acuáticas y Turísticas in Cozumel” was trying to capture the fish when he accidentally got stung by one of his sharp fins. Apparently Raul fell sick immediately after touching the fish and need it to go back to the surface to receive medical attention. Underwater Museum in Cozumel?

Aquabitat is a company in Cozumel that has proposed an underwater display that would recreate the reproduction of marine life and corals, using technology which allows placement of replicas of archeological monuments underwater.it could be the first museum in Latin America to offer a traditional display as well as an underwater attraction with educational benefits. The structures are composed of carbon fiber, natural pigments and certified organic resins with no toxic emissions, and reinforced with stainless steel. Similar structures have been installed at Villablanca Beach. The plan is to recreate a Maya city underwater. GOOD LUCK! that will be something diferent to see.
